Welcome to Jazz Beginners (Jazz Part One). On this course, you’ll begin your voyage through the universe of jazz as we introduce you to the core concepts of this incredibly rewarding and diverse playing style.

This highly detailed and in-depth course covers all the different ways in which we can play jazz on the ukulele. You’ll discover chord-melody, accompanying a vocal or instrumental live and even a bit of soloing too. An incredibly practical course, you’ll learn many new tunes to your jazz repertoire as well as some useful theoretical knowledge too.

The skills you will learn on this course will transform all aspects of your playing by giving you the tools to fine tune your performances of any genre. You’ll become a more well-rounded musician and be able to approach learning new material more quickly and easily as result.

Since its inception in the early 1900s, jazz has swept the globe with its relentless swing and exciting harmony. Early jazz was purely a form of dance music, infused with catchy tunes and irresistible rhythm. Jazz would later increase in complexity and artistic scrutiny. But, whatever style you’re in to, it all translates beautifully onto the ukulele with something for everybody in this course.
