Matthew is available as jazz banjo player as a solo banjo/vocalist or as a member of a jazz band for live performances or recording sessions.
With great skill and fluency on the tenor banjo and ukulele banjo, Matthew has great enthusiasm for the earliest jazz music. His driving rhythmic style will add an unmistakably authentic flavour to any jazz band looking to revive or pay tribute to the 1910s & 20s.
Notable highlights of banjo-playing gigs include a featured spot with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra in 2022, arranging and performing a traditional Dixieland jazz hit South Rampart Street Parade. In 2024, he performed with Silk Street Jazz at Epsom Downs Racecourse Derby Festival, providing ambient music throughout the races.
Always up for a challenge, Matthew is keen to get involved in more projects and share his love of performing with more audiences.
