Christmas 2023

Christmas?! In November?! It would seem that my November has been especially Christmassy this year, with things only set to ramp up as we get ever closer to the new year.

Gigs

At the start of the month, SaxandUke filled a last-minute vacancy for some Christmas music at Hilliers Garden Centre. We went down so well that they have invited us back again! We’ll be playing on 30th November from 5-8pm for their late evening Christmas event. There will be festive refreshments, Christmas trees and plenty of spectacle!

In the new year, SaxandUke are going on a spree of gigs throughout January. We’ll be appearing at the famous Unplugthewood on 23rd January, the Dog & Partridge in Yateley on Friday 26th January, before welcoming February in with a Bagshot Ukefest on 1st February at 5pm.

Then, in March, I’m off to the Isle of Wight for my fourth Bracklesham Ukulele Weekend! It’s a weekend retreat in a hotel, where you can play, learn and enjoy lots of ukulele music. It’s ever so fun and even more popular, so make sure to book your place if you haven’t already.

I’m building my list of private gigs for Christmas and beyond. Currently, I do more private events than public, but I enjoy both equally as much! If you would like any of my services to round off your festivities for this year, please get in touch!

All About That Bass

Did you know that, as well as ukulele and singing, that I play the bass? If you didn’t, you do now!

Playing bass is something that I have enjoyed for 8 years now, though sadly not as prominently as the ukulele. Whilst the ukulele is something I will always love doing, I have felt that I have neglected the bass somewhat, so I have created a brand new Facebook page just for my bass playing:

I would be really delighted if you would give it a ‘Like’, as I am hoping to build up my reputation as a bass player too and hopefully get some gigs on the instrument. I love playing jazz and rock ‘n’ roll, though I am happy playing almost anything. So, if you need a bass player, just get in touch!

SaxandUke

Hannah Spires and I as SaxandUke have been working to bring you some new live performances especially for YouTube viewers. You can check out our first offering on our joint channel, SaxandUke, by clicking below. We hope you enjoy this festive favourite!

That’s all for now…

I am hoping to see some of you all before too long. If you can’t make it to one of my gigs (or me to yours), I wish you a Merry Christmas!
