Welcome to the September edition of my monthly newsletter. Here you will find my latest news, thanks and congratulations, videos, band news, Christmas and performance information and everything else I have to share with you!
With the end of summer in sight it means that my performances will become less regular as I begin my life at college. From September until mid December I am only playing a handful of gigs. These are:
Friday 1st September Willow Gardens Care Home Yateley
Sunday 3rd September West End Social Club Open Mic 7:30
Saturday 9th September Yateley Cask & Cork Festival 6:00*
Saturday 7th Our Lady of Peace Social Club Real Ale Festival 8:30
Saturday 28th October Rose & Crown Halloween Beer Festival 9:00
It’s seems odd to think about Christmas just yet but I am now taking BOOKINGS FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR shows. I am available weekends in December and then most days between SATURDAY 16TH DECEMBER until TUESDAY 2ND JANUARY. I can do anything from small parties to large social gatherings as well as fetes, concerts, care homes or restaurants. I bring my own equipment and I can perform for mutually agreed length of time.
As mentioned in the list above, I am playing at the Rose & Crown pub in Sandhurst as part of their Halloween beer festival. This event will be very special because I will be officially debuting my live backing band! Joining me on stage will be live musicians to replace my backing tracks. This should hopefully bring even more energy and life to the evening to get everybody dancing and singing along.
The last month has been a real roller-coaster of a month with lots to talk about. The first of two highlights for me was when I played on the Rustic Stage at WEYFEST. Thank you to all who came and saw me, whether you were new to my act or were returning for more. Not only was the venue my biggest yet but all of the feedback I had was tremendous and very encouraging to keep doing what I love. A video of the performance is shown below.
The second highlight was my recent show at South Hill Park in Bracknell. Every Monday night showcase sessions occur in the art centre cafe, providing artists with an audience that have come to appreciate live music for half an hour each. I tried out some new material which went down very well which I am pleased about. Thank you to the organisers of both these events too. You guys do a fantastic job.
As well as this website I also run an official Facebook page which can be found by clicking here. Despite this, I am getting a lot of requests from my audiences who have received details of my page asking to friend my private account on Facebook. I would ask that if you are looking to find my artist page, please look for ‘Matthew Quilliam Ukulele’ where you can find regular posts about my latest gigs and performances.
Finally, if you would like to support me and my work please share any photographs or videos you may have of my performances and would on your Facebook, YouTube or any other media. It costs nothing but it would mean a lot to me. Alternatively, leave a comment on the website and I will include it as a statement.
Thank you for reading and for your continued support.
