In light of the coronavirus epidemic most VE Day events have been cancelled. Ironically, we’ll be spending the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII in the same way our ancestors did during that war: indoors, hiding from the enemy.
But have no fear as Matthew Quilliam will be hosting a concert, performing a set of his Vintage Tribute music, hits from and around the 30s and 40s. This online spectacular will be broadcast at 3pm, the time at which the peacetime announcement was given by Winston Churchill all those years ago, in memory of all those who served for the UK and the Allies.
Please tune in. This will be broadcast on Facebook and Instagram, although more services are anticipated to be used alongside the aforementioned to increase the audience. Donations are welcome in support of Matthew and other struggling musicians in this desperate time.
