THERE HAS BEEN A VENUE CHANGE. THIS IS NOW TAKING PLACE AT HATCHWOOD HOUSE, ODIHAM, RG29 1AB
July 1940, and following Dunkirk, England is poised for an expected German Invasion and the Basingstoke Canal is designated as the Last Line of Defence….join a group of ordinary men and women for an extraordinary tale of how their lives were shaped by the war.
The Drama, Comedy and Song theme cruise planned for July onboard John Pinkerton along Basingstoke Canal had to be cancelled due to Covid restrictions.
We are pleased to announce that the Hampshire Theatre Group, in conjunction with the Hatchwood House, has offered to do an open-air show on Saturday 22nd August. There will be two performances, at 3pm and 7pm.
The venue is the Lower Garden at the Waterwitch pub, and tables and chairs will be set out at social distance. Although there is more room for the audience than on the John Pinkerton canal boat, numbers are limited, so booking is essential.
The awaited launch of the revamped Basingstoke Canal Society website and incorporated on-line booking facility will be in early August.
In order that bookings can start as soon as possible, we will take bookings by completing a request and payment form at:
Tickets are £10 each, payment by bank transfer or Paypal.
All proceeds will be split between Hampshire Theatre Group and The Basingstoke Canal Society.
Please dress for the weather. If you want to air your period costume after lockdown, you will be welcome, but not essential.
